This is probably the best book to read if you are a nonbeliever or critic or learning about Christianity. I read this book when I was a Muslim. It opened the door for me to see the historical accuracy and significance of corroborative evidence supporting the historical Christian faith. I continue to read it 27 years later. It’s a quick, dynamic read and covers a lot of subjects. I also gift it to people on a regular basis. Glory.

Still a classic of Christian apologetics. Very sound arguments for Christianity. The mass market paperbacks are kind of cheap. I wish you could still buy a nice hardcover to give to a friend who is earnestly seeking. I am a Christian and have been for almost 40 years. I still enjoy picking up this book to bolster my faith when I need a pick me up.
I heard someone testify that she became a believer in the living God (Christian) after house sitting for a friend who had that book on their coffee table. While bored; she picked it up and read it and was very upset that she had not read the book sooner in life and that no one had suggested she read it beforehand. Which as a Christian I'm confident God has a perfect schedule for why things happen the way they do.I've been a believer for 20 years and never read it but had fallen asleep in my faith, watered down the truth to appease our current times, making excuses for many things, including my own decisions an life choices. But I too was on a journey in which God was preparing to wake me up with a shout!! I've never doubted that the bible is the inspired written world of God and I knew that was the gist of this book was to figure that out, but I still wanted to read it. And I am so glad I did. It really catapulted me forward in my faith to actually read and research more into my faith, what I believe, why I believe it; and what am I going to do about it. Like I said, God shouted; I heard and I am doing. But that said, because of this book, I presented it on to another who has found their experience of reading to be similar.
It's still a good book but they took the simplicity of the original edition and made it into a "zippier" rendition with take-outs of the text on some of the pages. I was hoping to get one of the original books but they sent this white covered copy and it isn't quite the same....even in the writing. Changes they probably thought were important but I found the original did the job perfectly. Was disappointed in their re-do.
There are people in thus world who can accept Christ with the full faith and trust of someone who innately knows that God and salvation exist. Then there are people who remain the eternal skeptic and desperately need to see evidence to even give a mere thought. "More than a Carpenter" does a superb job giving evidence where it is needed and showing us Christians of the more philosophical, apologetic persuasion how to give those arguments. Every Christian needs to read this book. Then they need to let their atheistic friends borrow it so they can get a glimpse of that evidence.Good job y'all!
A copy of the original 911 was given to me. On reviewing this book I see two chapters were added by Sean his son. First if one is not versed in science they should not offer evidence. Next the section re. Atheist is poorly written. I decided not to send this to my daughter and I have the case for Christ on the way.
